A person accused of setting fire to Alison Homestaed, home of the Wyong District Historical Society, has been apprehended and will be charged. The Society is working to have the homestead re-built.

A site at Tuggerah has been formally declared an Aboriginal Resting Place. Located in Lake Road not far from Tuggerah Railway Station, the site has been declared under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974. It is of special value to Central Coast Aboriginal community as it was a designated area to be used for the future burial of ancestoral remains and cultural materials that may be repatriated to the Aboriginal community from institutions such a museums and universities. to Don McAlpine a long time resident of McMasters Beach, who is well known as a Cinematogropher, was recently awarded the Australian Academy of Cinema and Relevision Arts Raymond Lonford award for his work on films including Moulin Rouge, Patriot Gomes and Romeo and Juliet. For many years he has travelled to America to continue his artform. He has won three Australian Film Industry Awards and been nominated for an Oscar and BAFTA awards, He has worked on some of Australia's best loved classic movies including Don's Party and Breaker Morant.
are still working to save this historic property which is owned by Gosford Council who wanted to demolish it. Warren Andrews a descendent of the original owners, has reminded Council of its 'duty of care' to protect the property against fire, vandals, arson and neglect. Friends of Fairview are planning an Open Day on April 22to discuss future preservation strategies.
