The Landing Project at Gosford Waterfront is still a very controversial plan with more members of the community becoming aware of the impact that the proposed plan presented by Lend Lease and the Regional Development Board Central Coast will have on this beautiful site.
The Community Alliance formed to provide alternative plans to the project continues to grow. They have proposed no multi-atorey buildings over the water on the eastern shore of Brisbane Water. Retention of the Gosford waterfront and reserves in public ownership; no sell off of public foreshores land. Continued public access to foreshore lands and associated public facilities. (including the swimming pool) Government should focus on implementing the existing Gosford CBD Plan to revitalise Gosford. The alliance strongly opposes the current proposals on the basis of economic, social, environmental and planning grounds' The material provided to date by the Regional Development Board makes it almost impossible to understand what is being planned. A rally is being planned for the near future for people to meet at the site to view height balloons, listen to speakers discuss environmental, community, access
In the MAC submission we also pointed out the lack of space in Gosford for festivals, visiting carnivals, our support for the performing accoustic designed arts space - with more discussion on site position, internal design to meet musicians requirements.

The Caroline Management Plan was discussed at Council on February 7. Narella Howard spoke on behalf of local art groups including MAC and the Gallery Advisory Group. Recommendations included Improved access from Central Coast Highway together with enhancement of the entrances from Webb and George Street. Continuation of Henry Parry Drive through to Melbourne Street. Improved Signage. Construction of an enlarged forecourt entrance to the gallery with overhead protection from heat and rain, preservation of the open spaces within the precinct, improved amenities for picnics and children's play areas, construction of a Loop track encompassing the Art Gallery, open lawn area south of the Gallery, the foreshore of Brisbane Water, the Friendship Walk and linking the community craft area in Russelld Drysdale Street and return to the Gallery, the building of heritage sculptures along the walkway and a new storeage area for the arts centre plus other issues.
