
April 11 @ 7.30pm 'Dance to Discover' Presented by Ausdance NSW The Australian Youth Dance Festival (AYDF) is held at NAISDA Dance College and is a week-long dance intensive led by significant Australian choreographers. It provides a platform across Australia to access a wide variety of dance styles, engage with professional dance artists and performances. Fifteen Australian youth dance companies and groups will showcase their talent, hard work and dedication. A new site specific dance work Shades of Us will also be performed by festival participants at Mt Penang Gardens. This work will reflect and enhance the spirit of the gardens and feature the work of ten choreographers and over 200 young people. English Regency dances will feature at the next Gosford Bush Dance on Saturday 10 March. The theme is 'Jane Austen' and dancers are invited to dress up in Regency style, if they would like to. Dancing is from 7.30 till 11.30pm at East Gosford Progress Hall, cnr Wells Street and Henry Parry Drive. The band 'Regency Ryebuck' will play the music and all dances will be taught, walked through and called. Many of the dances are slow and elegant, so beginners will find them easy to learn. The entry price of $18 includes a light supper. We hope to see you at the evening of 'Regency Elegance' Jane Austen dances will be taught and practised at the Social Dance Classes held on Friday evenings at Kariong Progress Hall, Cnr Woy Woy Road & Dandaloo Street Kariong.
