Northern Settlement Services Limited

Multicultural Movie Nights 'Film Global' are back for 2012.. I enjoy these movie nights very much as each month a different cultural group living on the Central Coast presents a film from their homeland plus food tasting. All for $2. Last months film was 'Cleopatra' from Argentina. It was most enjoyable. Two women of different ages, one a well known actress rebelling against pressure to go to America and Cleo a retired teacher with an unemployed depressive husband find each other and go on a trip which changes their lives. Future films will be shown on the 2nd Friday each month. March 9 is the next date. No advice of what group will host the event, but turn up at the Erina Youth Centre (next to Erina Library on the street) at 6.30pm Tickets are available at Erina Library or just turn up. Ettalong Beach Festival

March 16-18 at Ettalong Beach. This year the inaugural Festival Film Night is on Saturday March 17 from 7pm at Cinema Paradiso (Ocean View Rd). The theme explores 'Then & Now' commencing with the black and white film 'Woy Woy the Venice of Australia' plus original documented stores from local youth to seniors. The films will be an interesting perspective on what it was like back then, the changes and the influx of Sydneysiders in the last decade. Organisers are asking local residents from the Ettalong Beach area to make short documentaries and participate in interviews to tell their story of 'Then and Now".
